Career e-Volutions introduces new Express online workshops

July 2009

We are pleased to announce an addition to the successful Career e-Volutions online program. We are now offering two new express workshops designed to meet client needs in a timely and targeted way.

The Career e-Volutions Express workshops are targeted to specific client situations and are 2-weeks long.

Target Training workshop helps clients compare their self assessment and skills profile with their career ideas to determine personal fit. They also consider labour market demand and readiness to become a student, specifically within the context of Skills Development parameters. Participants will either verify their career and training choice or identify more suitable options. Activities include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, labour market research summary, information interviewing and school research comparison.

Target Work workshop assists clients to explore options related to their transferable skills, work needs and labour market realities. Participants will identify work targets and begin customizing their job search approach.

Encore Employment Project Extends Service Delivery in Squamish

April 2009

Training Innovations is pleased to announce the extension of the Encore Employment Project in Squamish. Encore is an initiative designed to help older workers develop in-demand skills and put their experience to work in the Sea to Sky Corridor. Sponsored by Service Canada and the Province of B.C., Encore offers nine-weeks of skills training, individual employment counselling, online workshops, and behind-the-scenes company tours to eligible participants. The program also offers services to help employers recruit and retain older workers.

The next session starts on June 1, 2009 and Training Innovations is actively recruiting unemployed participants ages of 50+ as well as "age friendly" employers that are interested in becoming workplace mentors for participants.
